UP-PCS
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is the conducting authority of the PCS Examination which is responsible for the recruitment of Group A and Group B officers in the administrative services of the state government. The name UPPCS is derived from Uttar Pradesh Provincial Civil Service.
Examination Process-
To get selected into these services, candidates have to appear in the UPPCS conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) and pass a three-phase selection process.
The three phases are:
Civil Services Preliminary Exam (Prelims)
Civil Services Main Examination (Mains)
The Personality Test (Interview)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
For the posts included in the Combined State /Upper Subordinate Services (General Recruitment / Special Recruitment) Examination- The candidates must possess Bachelors Degree of any recognised University or equivalent qualification upto the last date for receipt of application. This should be mentioned by the candidate in the relevant column of their application form but for some posts specific qualifications have been prescribed of which the details are given below: –

Designated Officer / Food Safety Officer | (1) Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry as one of the subjects from a University established by law in India or a qualification recognised by the Government as equivalent thereto, or (2) Atleast one of qualification prescribed for Direct Recruitment to the post of Food Safety Officer given as below: A Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology or Dairy Technology or Biotechnology or Oil Technology or Agricultural Science or Veterinary Sciences or Bio-Chemistry or Microbiology or Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry or Degree in Medicine from a recognised University, or any other equivalent/recognised qualification notified by the Central Government, Provided that no person who has any financial Interest in the manufacture, import or sale of any article of food shall be appointed to be a Food Safety Officer. |

Note: – “In case of special educational Qualification posts, the candidates must mention their options clearly, ‘yes’, in that conditions only they shall be considered for the posts bearing special education qualification.”
Under the Assistant Conservator of Forest / Range Forest Officer Services Examination.
Age Limit: The age of aspiring candidates should not be less than 21 years and not more than 40 years.
Age Relaxation: For candidates belonging to SC/ ST is 5 Years. For candidates belonging to OBC, it is 3 years and for candidates belonging to PwD it is 15 years.
Prelim structure- The UPPSC has continued with the existing UPPSC prelims exam pattern. There are two papers in the prelims exam. The time allotted for each paper is two hours. The details are as follows-

Ø Current events of national and international importance
Ø On Current Events of National and International Importance, candidates will be expected to have knowledge about them.
Ø History of India and Indian National Movement
Ø In History emphasis should be on broad understanding social, economic and political aspects of Indian History. In the Indian National Movement, the candidates are expected to have a synoptic view of nature and character of the freedom movement, growth of nationalism and attainment of independence.
Ø India and World geography- Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World
Ø In World Geography only general understanding of the subject will be expected. Questions on the Geography of India will relate to Physical, Social & Economic Geography of India.
Ø Indian Polity and governance- Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues etc.
Ø In Indian Polity, Economic and Culture, questions will test knowledge of the country’s political system including Panchayati Raj and Community Development, broad features of Economic policy in India and Indian culture.
Ø Economic and Social Development- Sustainable Development, Poverty Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
Ø The candidates will be tested with respect to problems and relationship between Population, Environment and Urbanization.
Ø General Issues on Environmental ecology, Biodiversity and Climate Change- that do not require subject specialization.
Ø General awareness of the subject is expected from candidates.

Ø Questions on General Science will cover general appreciation and understanding of Science including matters of everyday observation and experience, as may be expected of a well-educated person, who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline.
